
Prof. K.K. Abraham – A Visionary Leader and Educator
Prof. K.K. Abraham was a prominent leader in Kerala’s political, cooperative, and agricultural sectors, making a lasting impact through his visionary leadership. His career began as a faculty member at Thevara College, Ernakulam, before he moved to St. Thomas College, Pala, where he taught for several decades, retiring in 1996. He was not just an academic but also a strong advocate for sports and extracurricular activities, encouraging students to excel beyond academics.
Beyond education, Prof. K.K. Abraham played a significant role in cooperative development. As President of the Pala Marketing Society for 28 years, he transformed it into a strong and sustainable organization that uplifted local farmers and small businesses.
His contributions extended to national-level cooperatives, holding key positions such as:
✔ Vice-Chairman, Rubber Board – Instrumental in shaping policies for the rubber industry.
✔ President, Kerala State Co-operative Rubber Marketing Federation (RubberMark) – Worked tirelessly to enhance the welfare of rubber farmers.
✔ Director, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) – Played a role in national cooperative strategies.
✔ Chairman, Rubber Futures Commission – Led initiatives in rubber futures trading.
✔ Member, Futures Commission (Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India) – Contributed to national trade and commerce policies.
Though deeply involved in governance and policy-making, Prof. K.K. Abraham always prioritized education and social service. His unwavering belief in the transformative power of education led him to support numerous students financially.
